Author Guidelines
Carefully read the submission guidelines as follows:
A. Aim and Scope
Articles published in the Journal of English Language Teaching encompass a broad range of research or papers related to teaching English. Some of the topics covered in JELT include:
- Curriculum design and development
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
- English language and literary studies
- English language testing and assessment
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in ELT
- Innovations in language teaching and learning
- Interculturally-based English teaching and learning
- Language Planning and Language Policy
- Second language acquisition (SLA)
- Teacher Training and Professional Development
- Teaching English as a second or foreign language
- Technology-assisted language learning (CALL)
- Translation studies
B. General Requirements
- The article is written in English.
- The length of the submitted paper is at least 4000 words and a maximum of 8000 words. Editors will evaluate if the paper needs more pages than 8000 words before distributing it to reviewers.
- Use tools such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for reference management and formatting. The citation and references must be written based on APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association)
- Make sure that your article is formatted based on the JELT Manuscript Template.
C. Before you submit
- Register for the journal. Fill in the form with your details.
- Please fill in your first and last name. If you only have one name, repeat it or use it as your last name, too.
- Affiliation: Mention your university/institution.
- Read the author guidelines again before submitting your article.
- Please download the template and paste your article there. Make sure the template is not changed.
- Save your manuscript in Ms. Word file/document.
- Make sure:
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other material provided with this submission.
- When your manuscript is ready, begin your submission by clicking New Submission.
D. Submission
- Begin your submission by clicking New Submission.
- Enter your title with "Capitalized Each Word" format.
- Check the following boxes to proceed.
- Enter your keywords and abstract.
- Upload your file in Microsoft Word format (not PDF), no more than 8MB.
- When you upload the manuscript file, make sure you click Article text when asked, "What kind of file is this?"
- Click Add Contributor to insert your co-contributor's or co-author's data; more than a single author is preferred.
- Finish your submission by clicking the Submit button at the end of this process.
- When you see an "error" message, ignore it and click OK.
- To see your submission/pending submission, click Back to Submissions in the top left corner.
E. Structure of The Manuscript
The manuscript must be prepared according to the following structure:
- Title. The title of the paper should describe research aims, method/model, and objective, without an acronym or abbreviation.
- Abstract. The Abstract has 200 to 350 WORDS; no citation; please state the primary objective(s), research design, methodology, main outcomes, results, and the conclusions.
- Section structure. Authors are suggested to present their articles according to the following sections: Introduction - Method - Results and Discussion – Conclusion
- References. A minimum of 30 references from reputable journal articles or books is expected.
